  Would you be able to survive a three day Assembly?

  the last assembly i attended was over 10 years ago.

  the monotone speakers, boring talks, uncomfortable seats, long prayers and nodding off after the lunch break did me in.

  i survived the morning sessions, but the afternoon sessions were brutal.

  Stick a watchtower on the back window and watch for fellow travelers. New book on return trip. They sold bumper stickers too.

  Did your witness family have a 'Thanksgiving' that wasn't on Thanksgiving?

  my family had several elders, ministerial servants, auxillary pioneers etc, so it certainly wasn't one of those 'barely in' families.

  but in certain small ways, i think mine were slightly less hard line than some other families i've heard stories about over the years.

  one example was the 'fall dinner'.

  I forgot. Thursday night meeting. Lots of extra sleepy attendees smelling of rum--surely just a coincidence.

  Every country has it's autumn celebration. Does the southern hemisphere have a harvest time festival in April or may?

  Aah the old turkeys on sale story. True, and a day everyone had off excuse.

  It is a US national holiday linked to harvest festivals. I always wondered how householders felt about a call in tge midst of preparation.

  Did the 8 and 5 day. Everyone needs a nap. If you could get a hall attendant job it was better. Wife used to jab me awake for count times if I had a section. On a few occasions something would happen where I could actually be of aid.

  Pre marriage I watched for a girlfriend. It worked ONCE. after marriage some grump yelled at me for being a playboy--14 yo friends daughter and my young looking wife.

  The first Lett video I watched the audience and nobody else seemed to notice the clown show.

  Get a program and we can make the talks. If you knew the interviewees you could spot bare faced lies--assuming the same holds true when we do not know them.

  Missionary only?

  Years ago there were lots of divorces over "husband turned homo" within a few weeks of honeymoon. I wonder if they were connecting vigorous foreplay with the "unnatural" practices in the bible.

  We voyeurs would like details on 69(thanks vidiot) and abhorrent.

  Was the ever blessed David an explorer or a wham bam guy? I'm jealous.

  Olympic games/ jw.org keep on the watch

  the main article on jw.org is about the succesfull olympic games 2024 in paris.. many withness watch all the sport episodes of the games, but jw.org comes with a sour story about the games and not reaching real peace.. again jw.org is on the wrong side of history a d doesn't feel the public anx jw opinion.

  the closing remarks of the ioc president bach, thaf the games will not reach peace but plant peace in the hart of people was a strong message.. the organization and message of the games is all that jw.org wants to, but can't.. very sad and narrow minded, as ever.

  Serious illness has unpleasant affects. We all wish for no pain and to be loved; also to know we had a positive impact on everyone we interacted with.

  i started doubting the organization when i was 15. i spent the next 12 years doing in-depth research involving numerous emails with bible scholars and scientists.

  i finally left the organisation 3 years ago.

  technically i was never actually a jw as i was never baptised, so i’m not being shunned.

  jws asked me in response if i would sing any of their songs.. dan watkins wrote .

  its a hilarious misunderstanding, if it does not come from the watchtower bible and tract society, then it is effectively considered as coming from satan.

  Never let it be said that the singing is a charismatic event. Whoever finds or writes these ditties has a limited repertory and taste. They seem to favor lots of flats or sharps instead of the usual normal keys for "peoples " music; C,F,G

  Imagine taking time off work and flying to New York with your tuba to end up playing a single note ump ump ump March beat for 3 minutes.
